Jennisue M. Jessen

Human Trafficking Expert & U.S. Advisory Council Member

Jennisue Jessen is a human trafficking subject matter expert, global educator, non-profit founder, organizational development consultant and published author.

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of human trafficking, Jennisue knows the depths of trauma a body can endure. She was sold into sex trade at age four by her step-grandfather, but God provided for her rescue and escape after a failed suicide attempt at age 17.

Jennisue founded Compass 31 in 2011 in response to the unfolding of redemption in her own life. Compass 31 is an international NGO operating in six countries. Its highly successful program provides a holistic model of restoration for survivors of exploitation empowering them to move into lives of purpose and impact.

In cooperation with Compassion International, e3 Partners and International Justice Mission, Jennisue co-created a human trafficking prevention tool called Priceless Cube. Since 2012, national leaders from more than 40 different countries have been equipped to effectively combat human trafficking in their regions using this educational tool. To date, tens of thousands of people globally have heard this high-impact prevention message.

On January 5, 2021, Jennisue was appointed by President Trump to serve a 2-year term on the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking where she utilizes her experience and expertise to help inform federal counter-trafficking policy.
